LS Electric's first quarter of 2026 answered the central question surrounding the company's North American expansion: whether surging power infrastructure demand was translating into real, bankable margin. Revenue reached ₩1,376.6 billion (+33.4% year on year) and operating profit set a quarterly record at ₩126.6 billion (+45.0%), powered by North America sales that nearly doubled from ₩348.3 billion to ₩650.6 billion — an 86.8% jump that now represents 35% of consolidated revenue. In the same quarter, however, operating cash flow swung to negative ₩27.0 billion: contract assets ballooned ₩262.5 billion (+39.1%) in a single period, locking away ₩235.9 billion in unbilled receivables as execution outpaced invoicing. The structural demand story — AI data center buildouts and U.S. grid modernization — remains firmly intact, but Q1 2026 illustrates with unusual clarity that rapid order-book execution extracts a working capital toll before it yields a cash return. Structural growth and cash conversion are currently on different timetables.
